Yunnan Province is a major walnut production area in China, widely distributed in highland regions such as Yangbi, Yongren, Dayao, and Fengqing. The climate characteristics of altitude 1,500-2,500m, strong sunlight, and large diurnal temperature variations produce walnuts with high oil content and excellent flavor.
According to latest industry data, China's shelled walnut production (2024/25) is estimated at approximately 1.5 million tons, with Yunnan being one of the major production areas.
